Polawax is a wax that repels water and oil (self-emulsifying wax) which is widely used in the manufacture of cosmetics such as lotions, creams, and body butters.
Key Features of Polawax:
- Origin and Composition: Often a combination of Cetearyl Alcohol and Polysorbate 60 (such as Croda’s Polawax NF), or Cetearyl Alcohol (and) PEG-20 Stearate for the Polawax™ GP-200 version.
- Its Function: It helps mix water and oil so that they do not separate in the final product, while providing smoothness and good adhesion without leaving a non-greasy feel.
